Hudson's 1st Haircut

Hudson had his first haircut on Sunday. It was really just a little trim in the back he was starting to get a little rat-tail mullet. So it had to go. My mom gave him his haircut and he was a little difficult because he kept giggling and moving his head all around. He his always just a happy, giggly little guy.

Reading Time with Hudson

Hudson LOVES to read. He really likes the peekaboo books and touch and feel books. But don't start reading him a book unless you have 20 minutes to spare, because he will keep bringing you books.

While Ella is at school he likes to climb up in her chair and read books. The chair is actually for both of them but when Ella is home she usually runs and sits in the chair the second Hudson starts walking towards the chair.

When Ella was his age she used to love to read and she still loves to read all the time. So hopefully they will both continue to love to read.

Ella was very excited for Halloween only because it involves dressing-up and candy. So we took her to more houses this year and she really enjoyed getting all the candy. She was Belle again this year except this year she was Red dress Belle and Hudson of course was a Turtle. Which at first he didn't like it at all but once he forgot about his hat he didn't mind having the costume on.

We had a very busy day yesterday with Hudson's Birthday party and then off to an early Thanksgiving with my grandparents. So we decided to have Hudson's birthday party at my Dad's house. Since Hudson loves monkeys we threw him a Curious George 1st Birthday Party. We had an entire Monkey menu with Monkey Pudding, Monkey Bread and a Monkey Cake. I had made him his own monkey cake and so I thought he would tear into his cake but he didn't. At first he just barely touched the cake and just looked at his hand covered in icing. So then he picked up a fork and tried it that way. Well so much for me thinking boys are messier than girls. He had a great birthday and had a lot of fun running around with all the kids and playing with his new toys. His Uncle Brian wanted to start him out right by making sure he gave him his first Star Wars toys.

Then after the kids were all hyped up on sugar we went to my Grandparents for Thanksgiving. Hudson was so tired that he crashed and slept almost the whole time we were there. He had a long great day and Ella really enjoyed helping him open his presents and eating his cake.

Birthday from Gramma & Grampa

Hudson and Ella loved opening presents. So they both had a lot of fun opening all the presents from Gramma & Grampa. Hudson started digging right into the candy and even ate right through the wrapper. But his favorite toy was a big plush lion that growls. He gets a big smile on his face every time he hears it growling it is very sweet. And we are really enjoying all the candy. Thank you Gramma & Grampa from all of us enjoying the presents.
