Water Fun

First trip to the swimming pool. The pool was a little on the cold side but Hudson and Ella didn't mind. Our over-cautious girl had her life vest, arm wings and was in her dolphin boat, while Hudson was just in his baby boat. After a little bit Ella had warmed up to the pool and was swimming around the pool by herself with her life vest and arm wings. Hudson also enjoyed floating around in his boat and Ella's boat.
When the kids woke up from there naps we showed them the little water park we set up in the backyard. We had a pool, crazy sprinklers and a bowling slip-n-slide. It wasn't much of a water park but our kids are still small enough to enjoy the little things.

8 Months

My sweet little baby is eight months. Hudson is sleeping really good all through the night. His first two teeth are coming in and he is doing pretty good not being really fussy. On our San Antonio trip Hudson learned to crawl up the stairs and when we got back home he started to crawl up on the fireplace and he is so proud of himself when he gets up there. He is getting too big he is starting to pull himself to a standing position without holding on to anything and he will stand there for quite awhile. He is a really good eater as you can see he loves sweet potatoes and squash. Hudson is still my perfect happy little guy but I can tell that he is already more adventurous than Ella was at this age.

Congratulations Ashley & Ben!

Day Five & Day Six

Golfing

This picture was taken right after Ella made a hole-in-one. Shortly after that she was done golfing and spent the rest of the time in the shade eating snacks.

The guys trying to relax by watching Seinfeld while still watching the babies.

Bowling

The kids enjoyed bowling but they enjoyed eating popcorn just as much. They would bowl then run straight back to the popcorn without even seeing if they knocked down any pins.

The kids were so tired after a long week the little ones crashed while watching a movie.

As we drove to the bowling alley we heard some funny noises and then our air conditioning went out. So we decided to leave Sunday night and drive all night long. Our kids slept the majority of the ride. It was really hard to stay awake but we finally made it home on Monday at around 11 a.m.

Six Flags - Day Four

Bumper Cars

Ella had fun at first with the bumper cars but then she got stuck and had a little meltdown.

Well we really weren't ready to go to Six Flags we were burnt out on theme parks. Gramma & Grampa stayed home with Hudson and Brooklyn. So the day was more relaxing with just Ella to worry about.
After the bumper car meltdown we decided it was a good time to go home for the day. But to help Ella feel better about leaving John wanted to win her a prize. So as we were walking by the games Ella pointed to a game and said she wanted that "Lollipop Bear". Thankfully John won the bear and thankfully it was on our way out of the park because the bear was bigger than Ella. Grampa & Gramma were kind enough to stay home with Hudson and Brooklyn so they didn't have to spend another day in the heat stuck in their strollers.

Boat ride on the River
We decided to take a break from the theme parks and went downtown. We took the kids to a Children's Museum. It was a lot of fun they could play dress-up or make things. After the museum we walked to the River Walk saw the Alamo and ate at a Mexican Restaurant. But we ate inside because we needed the air-conditioning. Then we took a boat ride on the river and walked around for awhile and bought some souvenirs.

Sea World - Day Two

Feeding the Dolphins

Ella was really excited to feed the dolphins but when we got there she wouldn't feed them or touch them. John bought some fish to feed to the dolphins and we were able to see them up close and pet them.

We spent most of the day at the water park at Sea World. Ella loved playing in the wave pool and going down the water slides and going around the lazy river. Hudson also liked the lazy river. They made him wear a life jacket but he didn't mind because he actually fell asleep as we were going around in an inner tube.

Sea World - Day One

We lined all the kids up for a quick picture before they ran off to ride rides and see the shows.

Shamu Show

All we heard about a week before the trip from Ella, was when can I see the whales. So the first thing we did was go and see the Shamu show. She liked it but she wanted to go down for a closer look and pet the whales.

Enjoying the Rides

Ella really enjoyed going on all the kiddie rides. She is a very cautious girl but she wasn't scared to go on any of the rides. It probably helped that she had her cousins (or as Ella calls them her friends) to go on all the rides with her. One of her favorites was the Shamu roller coaster that she went on at least 3 times.

VIVA! The Beluga Whale Show

Ella and Hudson both really enjoyed this show, probably because they were constantly doing something and they had upbeat music playing. The show was more of the people doing acrobats and dolphins jumping than the Beluga whales doing much of anything.
Hudson spent the day sleeping in the stroller or being parked in the shade somewhere. Hudson loves his Gramma & Grampa for pushing him around in the stroller and keeping him in the shade. He did really good but by the end of day he was ready to be out of the stroller and in some air conditioning.
