Ella's Store

Ella loves to go to the library and so she pretends she has a library at home. She uses the laptop to scan the books and the "cards". Now she has moved on from having a pretend library to a pretend store. She sets up her store full of books, movies and toys on our ottoman and then asks "What do you want, Mommy?". I was tired of always having a mess on our ottomans so I made her a little table for her new store. She loves it so much she helped make a sign and she hung it up on the wall behind her "store".

Six Weeks

I can't believe it has already been 6 weeks. The time really has gone by fast. Hudson is doing really good. He is a happy chubby baby. We are still working on his sleeping but he is starting to sleep better. He doesn't like to take naps in his bed during the day. So during the day naps are taken in his swing or by me rocking him. Finally he has started smiling. When he sees us or we pick him up he will give us a big smile. Those little smiles are just so precious. John even got him to giggle a little bit. He is getting so big.

Ella is still smothering him with love but she is actually a good little helper. I hear "I'm a good helper, Mommy" at least 15 times a day. She is really gentle with him and she tries to help him to stop crying (which sometimes she is the reason he is crying to begin with). She likes to read him books or give him her dolls to sleep with. She loves attention but thankfully she is okay with sharing the attention with Hudson.

KU Basketball Game

Wednesday night we went to the KU game in Lawrence with Johnny & Elisa. It was the first time I had left my little guy but it was nice to get out without the kids for a night. Our seats were the next to last row on the upper level. KU played FAU (Florida Atlantic) and won 87-49. We stayed after the game to look through the Hall of Fame Museum. On our way out we saw the players were coming out and signing autographs so we stayed to get some autographs. We got Brandon Rush and Sherron Collins pictures and autographs. It was a lot of fun to get out.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent Thanksgiving at our house this year. We just had our family of four and my dad. It was my first time making Thanksgiving by myself (but John did help). Ella was a very good helper. She loved helping me make the pies. Everything turned out really good. We used our china and our silver but Ella used her Disney Princess "china". It was a nice relaxing day until Ella got sick. Thankfully she hadn't eaten that much for dinner. Hudson really enjoyed his first Thanksgiving by sleeping away the day.

First Bath

Hudson took his first bath with Ella. She was so excited to take a bath with him and show him all her bath toys. The first minute he didn't like the bath at all and after that he didn't seem to mind. He did give Ella a little surprise when he started to go to the bathroom in the bath tub. After that Ella was ready to have him out of the bath tub. So that might be the last time they take a bath together.

Doctor's Appointment

We took Ella and Hudson for his checkup. He now weighs 9lbs. 9oz and 21 1/2" long. As you can see he was not very happy to be going to the doctor. Ella was all happy because she went to the doctors office and didn't have to get any shots and she still got stickers. Although when we had to undress Hudson so they could weigh him Ella was a little concerned because he was crying.

Three Dancing Princesses

Phil, Julie and the kids came out on Saturday night. The kids watched the Twelve Dancing Princesses and the guys watched the KU game. After the movie was over the girls dressed up like Princesses and danced around together. Ella really enjoyed playing with her "friends."
