On Sunday Morning we left my dad's on our way to Hutch for our last Christmas of 2007. We stayed at John's parents along with 3 of his sisters and their families. We had a very full house. Ella always has lots of fun with her cousins or as she calls them her "friends". Hudson did really well with all the noise and sleeping at night. We all had a really good time and ate way too much. We left for home on Wednesday. About an hour into our trip Ella started crying and I turned around to see that she had gotten sick. Unfortunately she had all kinds of things on her lap. So we pulled over at a gas station to get everything all cleaned up but unfortunately even with an air freshner the smell did not seem to go away. But after she got sick she was all smiles and then she told me she was hungry. I think she had a little too much candy and cookies. Thankfully the rest of the trip was uneventful. It is always great to be able to spend time with our families and remember what Christmas is really about.

Another Christmas

Ella tired of opening presents and the boys looking for more to open
Hudson opening his presents

After we opened presents with Mom we went over to my Dad's. We had a big dinner with my Grandparents,my Uncle and both my brothers. Ella had so many presents that she actually got tired of opening them and we almost had to force her to open her last few presents. But she did enjoy playing with her new toys and being a princess with her cousin Alex.

Christmas with Mom

Well on Saturday during the blizzard we drove out to my mom and dad's for more Christmas. We went to my mom's new house which has no furniture since she hasn't moved in yet. Ella was very excited to get another Princess Barbie and to see her Nana.

Friday Night Christmas

Well after opening gifts all morning we went over to Roger & Dee Dee's to open some more. They had our kids and we had two of theirs. Ella as you can see loved her present which was a Dora talking cash register. Cooper was pretty excited too because he had already tried to open it with scissors before Ella opened it. It will be perfect to go in her little "store".

Our Family Christmas

The opening of presents begins. This is our first Christmas with many more to come. Ella woke up early as usual and was all excited to open presents. She really had a lot of fun opening up all her presents and Hudson's. We didn't keep track of how many gifts we had bought so she had a lot of gifts to open. She enjoyed every gift even her socks and we enjoyed all of her animated expressions.

Christmas Card

It was really difficult to get a good picture this year. But the problem was with Ella not with Hudson. She kept imitating John who was trying to get Hudson to look at the camera. After seriously about 75 pictures (thank goodness for digital cameras) we finally had a cute one.

Making Christmas Cookies

We made sugar cookies for Christmas this year. Ella really enjoyed helping me make the cookies and using the cookie cutters. We even made a cookie by tracing her hand. Her favorite part was the decorating and eating of the cookies.

Play Date at the Gym

I took Ella to the gym last Monday. It was an open gym and it was setup that all the kids were 2 years old. So it was really nice that all the kids were Ella's age. Her favorite thing to do was hang out in the ball pit. She lounged in there like it was a Jacuzzi. She really had a lot of fun and of course she didn't want to leave.

First Snowman of Winter

Well we had our first real snow of the winter. Ella has been wanting to go out and play in the snow and build a snowman. So John took her out on Friday. She had so much fun making her snowman and running around in the snow she didn't want to come inside. Hudson and I enjoyed watching them from inside the warm house. After Ella came in she had her first hot chocolate (really luke warm chocolate) but she really enjoyed it especially the marshmallows.

Happy 28th Birthday John!

Happy Birthday, John!
We Love You!

John started the day with a Happy Birthday wake up from Ella with a hug and kiss. Ella spent the day asking me when we were going to make daddy a cake. She loves to help me cook but she took some time to pose for some pictures. Also Hudson enjoyed helping us by watching us from his swing. John had said he wanted some snow before Christmas so he got his wish. It snowed all day. John had one of his favorite meals Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Ella was so excited to eat the cake that she didn't want to eat her dinner. She was very proud of the cake she made.

Decorating for Christmas

We put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. Ella was so excited to help me get all the decorations out. She really was able to help decorate this year. Although when she was helping put the balls on the tree she like to put them all on one branch. Her favorite decorations are the snowmen which she loves to plays with. Also this year we let her have her own Christmas tree in her room. I let her pick out her own ornaments and of course she picked princess ornaments. Ella loves to dress herself as you can tell from the pictures above. When we decorating the tree she chose to wear her Easter dress. So when John & I were outside putting up Christmas lights she went and put on a sweater and her snow boots over her dress. Usually she does a better job matching. Hudson loves the Christmas lights and he will just sit in his swing and stare at the tree and Ella keeps letting me know that we need presents under the tree.
